Proto and Living Map, leaders in conversational AI and digital mapping respectively, have partnered to integrate indoor wayfinding into the AI assistants offered in Proto's AICX Platform. This solution provides multilingual, omnichannel directions for customers, starting with an award-winning Southeast Asian airport.

Proto's new integration with Living Map offers a comprehensive wayfinding solution for high-traffic venues such as airports, hospitals, and shopping malls. Living Map is a feature-rich indoor mapping platform serving the largest real estate managers and transportation hubs in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. Proto's integration of Living Map enhances the indoor customer experience with conversational AI that offers text and voice directions alongside the visual map.

When a customer asks for directions, the Proto AI assistant takes the request in any language and leverages Living Map to find out where the customer is currently located and where that customer needs to go. The instructions are then sent back to the chatbot, seamlessly embedded inside the customer's preferred communication channel, whether that's WhatsApp, webchat, Telegram, etc.

From there, customers can follow directions within the digital map, get instant turn-by-turn directions, or ask any questions via voice or text about the services offered within the space. As the AI assistant learns about the passenger, it can also propose amenities to drive new revenue.

Living Map CRO Peter Asman said: "Our partnership with Proto is a game-changer for customer navigation. By integrating our indoor mapping with Proto's uniquely global conversational AI, we're not just helping people find their way — we're revolutionising how they interact with physical spaces."

Together, these technologies create an accessible solution for the future of indoor wayfinding, integrating Proto's advanced voice chat features and local language understanding techniques to make public venues even more personal.

Proto CEO Curtis Matlock said: "By partnering with Living Map, we're bringing a best-in-class wayfinding experience to local customers on a global scale. This integrated solution isn't just about making navigation easier — it's about making it smarter and more friendly for everyone, no matter where they are or what language they speak."

The integrated solution is launching at an award-winning Southeast Asian airport in Q1 2025, in keeping with the airport’s strategic focus on innovative passenger experiences. Following this launch, Living Map and Proto will expand the solution globally.
